Introducing the Birch Family Services Empowerment Circle
The Empowerment Circle is an opportunity for our most dedicated and influential supporters to deepen their involvement with Birch Family Services. Members will have access to unique benefits and privileges that will allow you to make an even greater impact on the lives of the individuals we support.
Each year Birch Family Services celebrates Jumpstart’s Read for the Record event, the world’s largest shared reading experience. Students in all our schools participate while Birch stakeholders read to support children’s early literacy, language, and social-emotional development. This year saw an incredible turnout with many special guests and surprises.
Susser students from Classroom 206 visited the Elmcor Senior Center on November 20, 2023, to visit with over 40 seniors and share their thanks in preparation for the holiday. Students also treated the seniors to a performance led by members of the Susser Kids Choir. The performance included two songs and dance to their favorite songs, which seniors were able to participate in.
During this special time of year, we reflect on what we’ve achieved and areas where there is more work to be done. We think not just about the successes in our programs, but how are the people we support thriving at home? How can we better support our parents and their children? The holidays can be particularly challenging for people with autism or a developmental disability and their families. With your help, we are determined to help bring a little more joy to their lives this holiday season.
