The Birch Training Institute (BTI) provides educational and behavioral training and consultative support and guidance designed to address the unique learning, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children and individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities.
BTI was established in 2001 and continues to be an invaluable resource for the greater New York City community. Not only do we provide comprehensive training to internal staff, we also provide customized staff development, consultation and training to external educators, paraprofessionals, supervisors, administrators, and related service providers throughout the greater New York City metropolitan area. Individuals, families, school districts, and community service providers have all benefited from our commitment to using best-practices to support people with disabilities across the lifespan. We offer on-site, off-site, and follow-up trainings to ensure the specific needs of the customer are met.
The BTI staff is a professional team of trainers and consultants who come from a wide range of disciplines, including education, psychology, speech/language, adult services, and administration. Our staff works with school districts, agencies, service providers, parents, and individuals.

BTI staff have developed specialized training specific to the needs of the customer. While most training is done on-site, when large numbers of staff require training, or if follow-up training is necessary to help staff utilize new tools and information, BTI can arrange off-site training and follow-up.
