Our Culture

One of the defining characteristics of Birch Family Services is our culture of caring, which is marked by a people-first approach and a shared commitment to the children and families we support. We are a diverse team; we all have different perspectives and areas of expertise. The common thread is that we are all actively engaged and deeply inspired by our mission. These qualities make Birch truly exceptional, and one of the best places within education and social services to work.

Values

Birch is known for providing high-quality, individualized services to people with complex needs. Our commitment to education and providing access to supportive services does not stop with the children and families that we serve. Our most unique and impactful resource is staff training and professional development.

Birch is dedicated to helping professionals grow in their understanding of autism and developmental disabilities. By investing in our staff and assisting them in developing their knowledge and skills, we also enhance the support provided to children, adults, and families.

We encourage staff to participate in the many classroom and web-based learning opportunities offered through Birch Training Institute. Our in-house Training Department develops custom programs designed to ensure that staff employ best practices and maintain up-to-date professional credentialing.

“As a Birch employee, we have access to professional training all the time. Whether in-house at the Birch Training Institute or somewhere outside.”
- Dora, Birch Employee

Most importantly, Birch is committed to assisting employees in achieving their professional goals through internal promotions and transfer opportunities. Prior to posting available opportunities externally, we work to identify qualified internal candidates and encourage them to apply.
