Birch Family Services Proudly Celebrates Marjory Antoine, Vice President of Education Programs

New York, October 21, 2024Birch Family Services, the leading provider of education and community support services for people with autism and developmental disabilities in New York City, is proud to share that Marjory Antoine, Vice President of Education Programs, has been honored as one of Crain’s New York Notable Black Leaders.

With over 30 years of experience, Antoine is an essential leader in Birch Family Services Education Department  overseeing operations, curriculum, and programming to support preschool and school-aged children and their families. Under Antoine’s leadership, Birch Family Services provides students with the resources and tools needed to reach their potential.

One of Antoine’s most significant and long-lasting achievements was the rapid implementation of remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. She quickly transitioned students and teachers to an online platform, ensuring that educational support and student well-being remained a top priority. Students, families, and staff praised Antoine’s response in facilitating a smooth transition. This is just one of many examples of her unwavering commitment to not only the Birch Family Services mission but the community we support during challenging times.

Beyond Ms. Antoine’s impactful work at Birch, she also devotes time to working in her community as a volunteer and advocate at other developmental disability organizations. She serves as Vice of the Brooklyn Developmental Disabilities Council and a Board Member of the Inter-Agency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies (IAC). In these roles, Antoine has broadened the scope of public knowledge of individuals with developmental disabilities, working for a more inclusive and accepting community.

Since its founding in 1975, Birch Family Services has provided fully integrated education, employment, and community support services to over 2,000 people annually across Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Ms. Antoine’s dedication and leadership exemplify the values that Birch Family Services stands for.
